This is the oldest of the world‘s zodiacs. It follows a cycle of twelve years. The lunar (Chinese) calendar is found throughout the Orient and is followed by a greater number of people than any other. It is observed in China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia and neighboring countries. The legend is that Buddha invited all of the animals to his birthday party. The twelve who came were each rewarded with a year with the promise that they would be the animals to hide in the heart of the year itself and also within the hearts of those born during that year. The Horse is the seventh of the twelve animals Buddha rewarded with stewardship of a year. Five Elements (Fire, Water, Metal, Earth and wood) distinguish the animals. Every sixty years the pattern of element-animal pairs repeats.
February 17, 2026–February 5, 2027 is the Red Fire Horse’s Year. Strong willed and adventurous, Fire Horse tosses its head with determination. This Horse seeks challenging new experiences and inspirations. Innovative techniques, strategy, courage and using the element of surprise leads to winning situations. Remember the legend of the Trojan Horse. Fire Horse cherishes and nurtures a free spirit. Persistently it trots along its chosen path without compromising. Success awaits at the end of the trail. Remember to allow others ample liberty, though. Be supportive of those who have goals and ideals which might differ from yours in order to make this year a favorable one.
Those born during a Horse Year are passionate in love, enthusiastic, independent, optimistic and quite strong—both physically and intellectually. They do have a tinge of selfishness, though, and can be quick tempered.
Years of the Horse… 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, 2026, 2038
