We at The Witches’ Almanac wish to give our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Michael Howard who passed away in Devonshire this September. An Elder of the Cultus Sabbati, Howard was the author of over 30 books concerning occultism, mysticism and paganism such as West Country Witches, Children of Cain, The Book of Fallen Angels and Modern Wicca: A History from Gerald Gardner to the Present. Ever-devoted to both research and education, he spent nearly four decades writing, editing and publishing the seminal Craft magazine The Cauldron in addition to his many books, lectures, presentations and interviews.

Michael Howard was a passionate and prolific author, a brilliant folklorist and a champion of the Old Ways. His presence within the Craft community shall be sorely missed.
