WITHIN OCCULTISM, there tends to be a heavy focus on exercising the intellectual and spiritual bodies over the physical. Many discussions center around how many or which books someone has consumed to add to their wisdom closet. Or comparing psychic abilities: “What beings were you able to conjure up? Have you achieved spirit flight?”

These things all have their merit and place, but it is foolhardy to dismiss the physical body as unimportant or not worthy of our investigation. After all, isn’t part of our spiritual journey to be exploring the physical space, rather than solely trying to transcend it?
